THE SEELEY STANDARD
At Medicine Lake Ranch, we pride ourselves in the standards that we set in our breeding programs and foal development. Historically dating back to the 1930s, the Seeley family has lived by the Code of the West.
No shortcuts were taken when reestablishing our herd. Almost all of our mares have been raised on the ranch from a filly. We spend a large amount of time with our horses, creating bonds and getting to know each one personally. Socialization is a large part of our foundation for producing horses that are level-headed, gentle, and calm. During the process of reestablishment, we brought in as much of the original population bloodlines as we could. We wanted to focus on growing the population in the slow race for winning in the long run. Pedigree has been largely important to us, and will continue to be as we expand.
Pride is taken seriously at Medicine Lake Ranch, raising quality horses that excel after their departure. The foundation of Medicine Lake Ranch runs on family, faith, integrity, and authenticity. Every horse becomes a family member. Beginning our foal development the moment they hit the ground, socialization is not a problem for our horses.

"I wouldn't give a plugged nickel for a horse that doesn't fight." - John Wayne
